where would you guys go to get an imported car?
just buy the new RL.
Importing an AWD accord will probably cost about as much anyway.
i think it'd be more... importing you have to deal with DOT and all that.
Oh yeah - forgot about all that shit. There's a reason that a $60,000 Skyline costs over $100,000 after DOT-ing and markup.
i thought a Skyline "only" costs $80k after having it DOT approved and importing it??
i guess that depends on the trim and mileage. i read somewhere the skylines retailed for around 45g brand new.
Depends on the model.
R34 GTRs are a little over 55grand brand new. I was under the impression that it'd be 15-20k to import it and legalize it through motoRex.
Yeah, but the DOT-ing doesnt have to happen depending on ur state.
Think about it - the morons who run the inspection station at ur local gas station arent gonna know ur tail's arnt Dot complient . . . . as long as u pass smog, ur good.
You still need to get the car registered...... The people who do that tend to know what they're looking at DOT wise.
Live in Montana. You don't have to worry about that at all. There's a few R32's running around fully licensed.
So even if it wont be used at all on the road, you still have to get it registered?
I ask because out of college Im planning on teaching english in Japan for a year and picking up a cappuccino, that i was hoping i could bring back home.
What's a cappuccino?

Its a suzuki roadster. Turbocharged DOHC 3cyl 660cc RWD K car (they get yellow lisence plates in japan).

An atricle that reviews a few K cars (including the capp) and has a history of the K car. http://www.aas.com.sg/features/archive/f08013.htm
