looking for a software to layer vocals over instrumentals

    maybe b will know, but i'm looking for a software i can install on my computer to be able to record lyrics over instrumentals. i dont need to produce the music, i just want to layer vocals over the music.

    i just want to get a microphone and headset for my computer so i can record some stuff.

    yes. it uses a usb secuirty key. i got it at guitar center

    I 2nd that! 300 bucks but you get what you pay for.

    Search cough cough for sound forge 5 or 6...

    it should do what you need.

    you could always go Pro-Tools but then you're looking at spending upwards of $8000 or so.
    I'd much rather spend the $300 and settle for something that can get the job done.

    Cakewalk is sooooooo old now.

    Sonar FTW! thats what I use but I pair it up with Sound Forge.

    Sonar + Vsampler + Sound Forge = FTW!!!!!



    BTW if you're looking for the older vers of sound forge, it's not put out by Sony, its I believe sonic factory or something.
