Loud "POP" then white smoke from plug??? Urgent!

Hey guys.
Long story short:

d16z6 is in, went to start, the second it turned over there was a loud "pop" around the IM, then I saw this little plug on the back of it leaking out this white gas'y/smokey stuff, with an electrical burn type smell.

The motor has been sitting for about 1.5 yrs, but we turned it over by hand a few times before we tried to start it, and it was NOT seezed or anything. just as smooth as my perfectly working a6.

Is there supposed to be a vacuum line that goes there or something?

found out it's just a purge valve, nothing important!!!

That's not just a purge valve, that's a vaccuum nipple. a vaccuum line needs to go to that spot or needs to be capped off.

that pop...might mean your firing order is off......when my wires were mixed around it would backfire thru the intake and smoke would come out of myfilter....but since u have nothing on that nipple....it came out of that......check ur spark plug wire order on the distributor
