so im about to get ready to lower my cb7, i been looking on ebay and been told to not get the cheap stuf wich is understandable, i was wondering if the skunk2 lowering springs or coil overs are any good and what else i nedd besides shock struts and chamber kit to do it myself. this is my first car ive ever worked on so yea, i know i have all the tools, jacks and stand i need.....

im not raceing my car or anything, i barely drive fast on the street, just want it lower but perform exelent when i need it too...

You'll also need spring compressors. You can buy these for around $30 at an auto parts store, and some places will allow you to rent them as well. A torque wrench would also be good to have, and ideally you'd want air tools, but they're not necessary. If you live in an area where things get rusty, then I'd also suggest plenty of penetrating fluid and maybe some replacement control arm bolts just in case things get nasty...

^ I agree with brutal on the control arm bolts. Though I haven't had any problems taking mine apart (280k all in PA so you know stuff gets rusty ^^/). You could also go with a koni struts/tein s-tech springs. I want to do this set up for my DD Accord and it can be done for under $300.

cool cool thanks a lot, yea i live in texas right now and the car is originaly from here and sat in a yard for years,so i'm probly going to buy the whole oem asymbily replacement. with school and work it should take me about 1 month to gather the parts i need. i might as well buy the spring compressor so that i wont have to worry about it agian or if i get another car or something, so thanks for that brutal, dam good advice. with that and my cam shaft project i should be set for a while....fricken sweat.

Yep, no problem man. And yeah, I would probably just buy a set of spring compressors, then you'll have them to keep. They're not very expensive, only like $25-$30 usually...

That's cool man, I used to see those springs go for $150 a set all day long. There does not seem to be many for our car on ebay atm but if you search you should be able to find them for that.

There is a difference between shocks and struts, but most people use the terms interchangeably. You just need springs and shocks...
