I just recently bought a ls motor with ls transmission and evertything needed for a engine swap except the wiring harness and ecu.. My question is what ecu and wiring harness do i need to purchase for me to swap it into a 1997 ex coupe civic and will i need motor mounts what am i missiing please help THX. :D

get an OBD-2a LS ECU
modify your stock harness to fit the engine

if it is an OBD-2 LS engine you will only need to add lenght to a few wires that dont reach

if its not an OBD-2 LS engine you will need to either get the OBD-2 components or switch the plugs on your harness

like i said you can use the stock harness, but you will need to lengthen a few wires... depending on the OBD of the engine you may need to switch a few plugs

what year is the engine???

As for wiring harness go, reusing your existing civic harness on the LS motor, will work just fine. You'll just have to perform the IACV fix and CKF fix. This is all explained in this diagram of mine:

...and here's an additional diagram for the ecu pinout swap for the IACV:

heres some info on what you will need to rewire, Becaue it is not a direct plug and play. well not for my Lx, your EX harness might already have the correction on it. I'm about to do the same swap. in my 96 LX , I got a 99 LS motor and a 00 GSR tranny.

info that i posted as well as the site is from Katman
