ok i had to ask b/c i keep reading about people arguing this.

ls/vtec setups with a high rev. all i want to know is this......is it possible to have an ls/vtec setup to rev to 8k or higher? maybe 9k?

if course i'm talking about a built motor with high comp and new rods, valvetrain work ect.

thanks

yes its possible, the only really weak component are the ls or b20 rod bolts and sometimes rods, higher rpms can easily be achieved with a built bottom end, or a fully built motor can go even higher

first and most important is cams that will actually make power at 10k
if you dont have those then there is no reason to go that high

umm......yes.....you can spin it to 10 if its biult good enough lol

Yup. Mine saw 10k every now and then- and thankfully never floated a valve on the stock valvetrain. It didn't make any power up there, but it DID get up there without any problems. Amazingly, the only aftermarket parts in the engine were the ARP fasteners, rods, and pistons. That's it. Everything else was Honda OEM.
