Just got some 14" Steelies for some slicks.My question is will the slicks that are 20.0/8.0-14 fit on these rims? The specs say 6.0 width and my rims are 5.0 width
Anybody done this before?
 
i dont think so....it would be like mounting a truck tire on a civic rim, even though they are both 15 inches, the bead wont line up with where it needs to be on the rim. I know my slicks wouldnt fit on steelies, I went out and bought some weld wheels.
 
I mounted my 15 inch slicks on rims that were a little bit too narrow. They fit, but I had to put A LOT of air in them to get the beads to seat. Over 80 psi. Pretty dumb. Anyway I am sure that the tires aren't performing as they should. They are designed for a certain rim diameter, after all. But they hook up well, so i guess it is up to you.
