mileage reading after engine swap

quick question... after doing an engine swap, do the mileage odometer read the same mileage as the old one, or do they reset it to match up with the newer engine?

it is illegal to reset or tamper with your odometer. the body of your car and everything that wasnt included in the swap still has x miles on it, therefore your odometer will show that. to prove the mileage on the moter alone make sure you get good documentation of when the swap was performed, maybe on your invoice write the milage, or if you take it to a shop get them to write it on the reciept.
