Hi,
I am a new member from Croatia, and I recently bought 1992 Civic Lsi coupe.
Right now in the moment, engine is std D15B7, and although it fulfills my momentarily needs for daily-driving, it certainly lacks of some excitement.
I read quite a few articles about doing mini-me conversion, with various combinations of D-series engine blocks but I did not find any info about using D16A8 block (probably from Rover 416)- is it possible to use it in mini-me conversion together with D16Z6 head?
I ask that because I have that block in my garage and few days ago I placed old D16Z6 headgasket on top of it - all headbolts holes aligned perfectly except one in the upper left corner:
Except this one mismatched hole, all other holes are aligned perfectly...is it possible to enlarge slightly hole on D16Z6 head & headgasket, just so upper left headbolt can pass normaly and bolt to D16A8 block, without breaking into coolant gallery?
This is top view of the whole D16Z6 headgasket on D16A8 block:
