i just bought a eclipse gst 2nd gen. It needs a new valve cover gasket. I bought the gasket today from mitsu. I am removing the valve cover but it is stuck on. I have removed all the bolts the ones in the middle and the ones on the outside also. However it won't budge i have tapped on it with a deadblow hammer but it won't move at all. Is there some kinda trick to taking it off or something i'm forgetting? any help is appreciated i am getting fustrated

Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to lightly pry up different points of the valvecover. Don't score/groove the aluminum, and you should be fine. It just take patience.

ahem..... you arent supposed to say "bashed the piss out of it" you should say.....

My friend had the same problem, just "adjusted" it with a rubber hammer, and that did the trick.
