i just bought a eclipse gst 2nd gen. It needs a new valve cover gasket. I bought the gasket today from mitsu. I am removing the valve cover but it is stuck on. I have removed all the bolts the ones in the middle and the ones on the outside also. However it won't budge i have tapped on it with a deadblow hammer but it won't move at all. Is there some kinda trick to taking it off or something i'm forgetting? any help is appreciated i am getting fustrated

Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to lightly pry up different points of the valvecover. Don't score/groove the aluminum, and you should be fine. It just take patience.

My friend had the same problem, just bashed the piss of of it with a rubber hammer, and that did the trick.

start prying from where the timing belt cover is. easist way to get it off.
