how much did they run you?
what model are the tires?

car looks good

except the wing :ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r: :p jk

i had the enkeis...

i paid $100 for the four hankook ventus. they have like 50 laps on them at the track. they are only half dead :) perfect for me. i'll get the rest of this season and next out of them.

sooooo out with the old tranny with bad bearings and in with a much lower mileage one from evoIT. replaced the axle seals. works great!

put on the split intake manifold too. much easier working the intake and coolant ports seperately. much much easier.

pulled the ACT2600 clutch and disc off of my old mirage's 2nd popped 1.5L motor since froggie decided he wasnt going to use it. he's a pussy and prefers the stock plate. the disc was toast but mine was still mint after 50K hard miles. popped the plate on and its so nice. (mad props to DIYMIRAGE for the replacement low mileage clutch and pressure plate i installed 50K miles ago ;))

i totally torqued everything down with an impact gun this time. usually i just breaker bar all the big bolts, but i decided to since i had one at my disposal. front end feels much more solid.

kenny and i welded the busted to shit RRM mount up, and my trans mount solid. next in a few days i'll do the timing belt mount.

results: shifts like butter. i really missed the hard actuation of the ACT clutch. i'll have much better launches now, especially with the 225 wide slicks. throttle response is better, since i had some sort of weird hesitation/jerking due to the busted poly mount. still gotta work on the TPS, its not completely correct (or the BISS?)

i broke the transistor/resistor that sits on the distributor. anyone know where i can get a replacement for that? i may hit up the junkyard at some point next weekend if i have time. the little one wire cylinder looking thingie. i think i may need to replace the thermostat, or there isnt enough coolant in the system yet. i pegged H for a few miles before i realized it, and as soon as i turned on the heat it went back to normal.

don't torque things with an impact gun. Get a torque wrench....

remember my flywheel coming off at Limerock...

no shit, im not going to impact components like that. i have a digital torque wrench ;)

light blue metallic rs5's wrapped with 225/45r15 hankook ventus slicks.

quick question, how do i get the rest of the paint off the tires? i was thinking 1000grit wetsandpaper.

Chris, we need to make the mirage all one color again. You're comming over, and we're spray bombing the entire car, including the engine bay flat black. You have no choice.

J/k, but seriously you need to paint the engine bay and front crossmember.

Those slicks look nasty. :D

flat black sounds good. but its still so shiny!

i'll paint the bay when the engine comes out. most likely flat black.

well considering i seem to blow out my bulbs on a few-weekly basis as-is due to the stiffness of the suspension, upgrading to more expensive bulbs just means im spending more money to drive at night.
