Hey Guys

The weather up here has been gruling the past week or so and my hatch is getting a tad moody.

Here are the symptons of my problem....
- when I start my engine, she cranks up first try, no problems.
- I leave it running for a minute or so....at this point she is reving at about 2k (keep in mind we are talking about -25C here).
- I start to drive, but when I press the clutch in, she revs at almost 3k...almost feels like something is sticking...or that it is trying to accomodate to the bitter cold weather.

This is before it heats up fully...but we're not done yet....

- As I drive more, the revs drop to a normal 1k... but my engine temp gauge still reads cold.
- I now have to drive for about 5-7 minutes to bring the car to heat

BUT

- Usually the guage will read half way between C&H....now she only goes up a quarter of the way, and the air coming from the vents is luke-warm at best.

This is only on the really cold days though. On an above 0C day, she heats up fine.

I was thinking the heater core or a bad thermostat....any opinions?
