I have a 6al Ignition Control sitting around .

I wanted to know if I can use this 6AL or should I get the SCI-L compact car one?

I can't see why one would be better than the other.

Any input on this.

Any info would be helpfull

Thanks,

I'm not too familiar with the 6AL but the SCI I have the base model in my car not the SCI-L which I think comes with an adjustable revlimiter

The SCI base model for me has given a little more power and Im also getting about 50 more miles on a tank of gas... also the SCI is for high-revving motors

My opinion the SCI is the choice but again I have no clue about the 6AL maybe someone has it in their setup and its done fine for them

Oh but to answer your question if you have the 6AL just laying around might as well use it I dont believe its going to hurt any

I know the MSD said that the SCI is for high reving compact cars

but, also the specs on there website is

the 6al
RPM Range:15,000 RPM with 14.4 Volts

the SCI-L
RPM Range:14,000 RPM with 14.4 Volts

that looks to me as if the 6AL is a higher reving unit.

MSD won't help. They just keep telling me to get a SCI unit.
