so my friend just bought a 95 gsr and was told the motor knocks. car was being sold for 800 so he took it. today while prepping to pull the motor he noticed there was no tap for oil tp the head at all, which led him to realize that the previous owner had actually put a b18b bottom end in it and just slapped the vtec head on. thats it. SUPPOSEDLY the guy had driven the car in its current form before it started knocking.

    so the question is...
would not running an oil line fuck up vtec and the vtec solenoid?

    can anyone help out
