well i didn't think this was appropriate for the swap forums...

I've come up w/ a performance goal for my car, and a price range to work with.

1. 220 whp/2200lbs
2. better handling/
3. low 14 1/4 mile/
4. beat v6 mustangs and riced teg gsr's w i/h/e

car keeps power steering, a/c
interior must appear stock, ie: carpet, door panels ect.

what I intend to do to reach this goal:

suspension:
tein ss coilovers: $800-$1050
sway bars: make sugestion i'm lost
black rota slipstreams: $450-$500
tires: make sugestion I'm lost

engine:
gsr swap: $3000-$3500 (I hope to do all of the work myself)
plus another $2000-$2500 into motor for various goodies to bring it close to 220hp

bling:
racing seats: $$$who fuckin knows$$$
paint: 20+ cans of rusto flat black: $60+
cf hood: FREE!!! (I traded it for a couch!!!)

total budget: $8000-$9000
cost of vehicle: $2000 ('93 del sol) let's just say i got a REALLY good deal

so i'm hoping for around $10-11.5k total I can build a RELIABLE and somewhat unique 2 seat roadster that will out-perform most vehicles purchased stock for equal value

I've made myself dizzy looking at reviews and tech articles. this is my plan and I'm sticking to it. first thing to check off on the shoping list: tein coilovers in the mail. hope to put them on this weekend. YAH!!!!!
 
220 WHP is NOT accessable for a GSR swap + $2200. You Might be able to squeak out 200. MAYBE.

With that 200, though, you will be in the 13's, and beyond your low 14 wishes.

My buddy here in a GSR (stripped to 2300 lbs) with LOTS of motor mods went 13.0 the other day with 210 WHP.
 
dude, save ur money and boost the fucking d16.
get a greddy kit\turbonetics\rev hard kit, get ur a/f and ecu issues tuned and dealt with,

boost 10psi and get down to high 13's
for half of what u are about to spend.

if low 14's are what you are looking for.....boost. as long as you tune properly and take care of you car, it will most likely outlast your interest in imports.

Then aim for 190 at the wheels for the $2000-$2500 over the engine.

That includes exhaust, header, etc, right? Cause that, for good stuff will be an EASY $800.
 
i don't know jack about del sols. how do you drop the curb weight down to 2200 lbs including b18c?

tein SS's are 850- 875. don't pay anymore for them. if you need help locating a set at that price, let me know, and i can scope some out for you.

gsr for 3500 sounds good.... 220 whp off of 2000 is gonan be hard.

why not an sir2 for 2300, and a max rev kit for 3000?

you're gonna go over budget either way- might as well do it boosting :p

you might be able to make 220whp for 2g's but you probably wouldn't be running pump gas. i'm w/ these guys, just turbo that puppy.
