Thanks. I dont rant often, hell at all, so this is my rant.

Try to remember... to many people, their cars are not an extension of themselves. So I guess your girl doesn't drive stick? Well just try to focus (hehe) on her better qualities then.

uh? she can drive a stick... (hee hee). And I will be focusing like mad becuase she has such great qaulities! She loves DSM's though she wanted an Eclipse or soemthing ghey like that

uh? I don't get how anyone who can drive stick, would willingly own an automatic car.

This car was cheaper than a stick of the same trim level, same year... when she was in the market for a car. She was limited to how much she had available to spend. She originally looked at a 91 RS Integra 5 speed, for 1750 in great condition, just had a blown headgasket andher dad figured with it being foreign it would cost an arm and a leg to fix (60 for the HG, then another 25 for the Valve cover gasket etc... arm and a leg my ass). So there ya go. You can stop talkin down on my girlfriend now, thanks

Hey LeanMean, let me help you feel a bit better about your girl's car for a second. On my way home from Wally World tonight, I see a group of kids with their hoods popped at a local restaurant. I swerved the old B18 hatch in to see what was up. Most everyone knows me over in the next town, so they all walk over to see if I had anything new on the ride. While I was popping my hood, in rockets an Eagle Talon (auto). The Talon was silver with a giant dual deck aluminum wing on the back and.......................vinyl from the front fender to the rear (at least 9 inches high) saying VTEC! :bo: I coulda died, then he starts reving on me. Needless to say, I couldn't stop laughing long enough to remember my phone camera was in glovebox :( He's definately not from the area, but I'm gonna go out next weekend and see if I can get pics of the car.

2 words........... Road Head

But how would driving an automatic benefit HER???

LeanMeanMarine- My last statement was meant as a GENERAL comment for anyone who can drive a stick well. Why would I want to down her anyway? I really don't care who you go out with. For the sake of the forum and for reading good posts by you, I just want you to be happy with her and life. :)

If i came across an s/c buick regal GS I'd drive it...and its an auto...and i'm a manual type of guy. :D

there are a few exceptions to my criteria. ;)

hey, i resent that
i agree with the others though, unless its a steal i'll never buy an auto

For stop and go driving, like downtown in a city or something, a manual tranny kind of sucks. If I were to buy a car just to drive to work or school or something i would probably get an automatic.

yO' :concur:. My Integra Sedan is an automatic, until I swap my LSVTEC build in it. The ONLY reason I bought it was becuase it was:

1. $200, needed timing belt($59), water pump ($44.99), thermostat ($9.99) and a battery (stole it form my dads Escort). So essentially it was a $315 car! Than ran hard until the cam seal went kabloooom (that too would have been a cheap and easy fix, but I neglected to do so and paid the ultimate price, had to drive an american car for a while)!
2. AWESOME
3. I wanted an Integra Sedan...

Yes, I prefer manuals becuase they are more reliable in the long run than automatics.

I never have a problem with stop and go driving through town...

you know what the funny thing is though? through my town, all the lights are timed.

I learned that by going the speed limit (or under) the only thing i'd have to do is downshift to make sure I dont run through when its still red. :p

The other perk is cops dont mess with people obeying speed limits. :spin:
