My intake air temp sensor is turning on the CEL

    Here's the situation:
    My ECU pops a code 10 (IAT sensor) pretty much every time I drive the car. The light will only come on after the car is warmed up. Closing the throttle seems to be the trigger.

    I can drive for hours down the interstate with no CEL and as soon as I let off the gas for an exit, the light will come on after a few seconds.
    Or I can drive around town for about 15 minutes, slow down for something, and the light comes on.
    Restarting the car keeps the light off until I let off the gas again.

    I've pretty much exhausted my knowledge trying to fix this.
    I tested the sensor and wiring according to Helm's and everything is OK. I've reset the ECU and I've swapped my sensor with another used one. To make sure the ECU is working right, I unplugged the sensor, and the the CEL came on like it should.

    The motor in question is an OBD1 B18c1, with a chipped p28 ECU, homemade CAI, and the big Edelbrock intake manifold. I bought this motor as it is now, with the exception of the CAI. I'm pretty sure that it's running an ITR ECU program and as far as I know, this motor wasn't having this problem in the car it used to be in.

    I don't notice any changes or oddities in engine performance, but the CEL is really annoying.
