i know most of you dont like Fords, but i am glad to finally get a car that i can wrench on. the car i bought is a 1992 Escort GT that i bought off of sleepergtx (James) for $500. yeah its got some work that needs to be done to it, but it runs pretty good and in not that bad of shape i think. heres a few pics....of 56k warning:

more pics can be found here: https://hondaswap.com/gallery/browse.ph...hp?album_id=740

plans for the car:
-get rid of those dammed washer LEDs!! :ghey: :puke:
-a lil body work to make the body a little straighter than what it is along with fix some rust spots.
-upgrade suspension to some Ground Control coilovers and new struts
-slotted disc brakes.
-build engine up...want to run at least 8-10psi daily and 15-17 at the track.

being that there is not much aftermarket support, i have to look for engine stuff from the 1.8L DOHC Mazda Miata ince it share the same engine, and body kits from other cars that is IF i decide to get a body kit...which i dont think i am. i am thinking this car is gonna be a pretty sweet sleeper when i get done with it. oh and before any of you all say EWW an Escort...it shares the same chassis as a Protege :p

dont you all worry tho, i am not going anywhere because this pretty much my 2nd home...hehe. Hondas are always my favorite type of car and will always be. :)

:bawling:

I'm gonna miss it. :(

From my custom shaved Grille:

to my (almost completely) shaved trunk lid (no ford or Escort GT emblems, and the orange reflector is gone):

No need to build the engine, unless it's high miles. It's the same engine that was in the 323 Familia, which was capable of 18 PSI on stock internals.

Actually, it isn't the same exact engine...but it's the same block. The one in the 91-96 Escort GTs are 1.8 BPD8s. The 323 GTX uses the 1.6 BPT (also called the GTX). You're right about the pressure the 1.6 can handle, and to add to that, the 1.8 BPD8 can handle upwards of 14 PSI with the right timing/fuel management mods to it. :worthy:

It has 95k miles on it, and I have a 1.8 block sittin in my garage which he wants to use. When he builds it, you'll see him gettin awesome times at the track. :p

Ewwwwwww. A ford.
I'd lose the blue dash thingy too. LED washer lights? Really James?!?!?!?!
Just a question...Did you get your license back yet?

I painted that dash. I was gonna go for a blue theme for the interior, that was a start. <_<

I bought the LEDs because they were 10 bucks and it was a hell of a lot easier than trying to re align the old ones and waste fluid checking them. I had them hooked up for maybe a week. then i wires.

No he doesn't have his license STILL...

It'll cost him 1000 bucks and a trip to VA to get it back, since he lost it down there.

I had a 91 Excort, then bew it up so daddy would buy me a new car, he bought me another Escort but made the mistake of putting my name on the title, and I sold it and got my Integra :p I hate Fords

You suck. lol I want to get back into the Escort world, Use it for a backup car or something. just an LX though. cheap insurance and easy to fuck with the engine. I'll have a whopping 88 hp too.

I don't want to spend a shit load of money on a car, I just want to buy a cheapy-don't-give-a-fuck-about-it car that i already know about. Besides I'd rather you have the block and build a killer out of it.

oh, and it's not in the basement, it's in the garage. ;)
