I'm racking up too many miles on the M with my 100 mile commute and driving the truck sucks (gas, and just sucks in general).... so, i've been hunting for a new 4-banger DD for the past month or so.

Well, i think i found her :)

I put an offer in to the guy selling it. We'll see if he takes it.

so, i'm hoping he meets me on my offer.

its a 30mpg car that i think i'll still enjoy, and i think looks pretty damn hot :)

plus, it's got a set of snows so i can daily it in the winter too :)

it is not an M-package. There's only like 2000 of those ever made.

its not.. then whats the little M logo on the molding doing there??

and that front bumper sure looks like the M version too

my 2nd favorite BMW ever. buy it. BUY IT

when you are sick of it, find me first. do want.

Those are pretty reliable for a BMW. Decent cars too.

That passenger seat switch is a pain in the ass. Every single E36 has that problem eventually. I know a lot of people who just rig it to always be on.

I always loved the e36. <3

So how much did you offer him? If your willing to say? Looks to be pretty clean, way too nice for me to consider it a DD machine, but thats just me.

here's the thing...
if i buy a civic or something that sucks on the cheap, i know myself and im still going to end up driving the M every day. That's what I'm trying to put a stop to. So, if I enjoy said other vehicle enough, I'll drive it and have fun with it and keep the miles off the M (broke 55k this week :( already... which makes me 'high mileage' for the year compared to most).
It looks good, it's kinda slow, but it's fun to drive. It will save me from getting more 'seatbelt' tickets too :)

Plus the 318 gets 10+ more mpg, so it will eventually pay for itself after 30 years or so :D

have you actually driven a 318ti??? they are extremely not fast
they handle well, but they have virtually no balls (you pretty much might as well be in a civic)
knowing you i seriously think you will be miserable with that car
it weighs 2778lb
it only has 138hp 133tq
it does 0-60 in 8.9sec
pulls .83g in the corners
and does a 1/4 in about 15.7 (oops just looked and found its actually 16.4)

its a full second slower to 60 than a same year integra LS and has the same handling

1998 BMW 3 Series specs, auto safety at Edmunds
1998 Acura Integra specs, auto safety at Edmunds

its actually 1/2 a second slower to 60 than the 98 2.5RS and only handles .03g better in the corners
1998 Subaru Impreza specs, auto safety at Edmunds
and we all know how much you enjoyed that car

i really would pass on this car for you... you will hate it in less than a month
