sorry but 275 all motor is not going to happen with a B series... especially not a pump gas streetable B series
that is not to say you cant build a very potent engine with a B20/VTEC... just that if you are somehow attached to that number you are going to get your hopes crushed

if you were interested in turboing it then that number is extremely easy to hit

there are a few people on here who have built great B20/VTECs and LS/VTECs so i will let them give you more specific assistance

what the fuck are you talking about?
the GSR tranny is just about perfect for a daily driver / fun car

the only thing LS gearing is any good for is fuel efficiency and top speed runs... thats it

you'd REALLY hate the JDM ITR gearing i have in my sol then :slap:

not to mention that with LS gears and a B16 head every single time he shifted he would fall off the high lobes

    worst advise ever

don't give advice on stuff you don't know about. the gsr transmission is pretty much perfect for daily driving and performance on an all motor and even a turbo b series setup. the itr and b16a trans are kinda short, and best suited for an all motor car, hwy driving kinda sucks.

to the OP, building a potent b20vtec all motor setup is costly and you will be hard pressed to get north of 225hp or so for an easily streetable setup. I recommend enjoying what you have for a while, do some serious research about the options, and then if you are serious about blowing $2-3k on a motor build... you have two options that should cost roughly the same: build a b20vtec for all motor and be happy in the low 200s(but it will be fun), or do a mild turbo on your stock b20 and make maybe 300whp (don't push for more than that on stock motor, it wont last).

I take exception to that. :D It's doable, but it'll be damn expensive!

    Same as B18B rods.

please, PLEASE stop giving advice about shit you know nothing about... especially when you "heard" about it....

to the OP, you CAN build a decent all motor ls/b20... but it will take ALOT of port work. pr3/p30 pistons, cams, springs, retainers, cam gears, a GOOD header, and a decent amount of machine shop work... and tuning.. and even after all that, you will be at about 180-200 whp.... which is great from something that started out with 140 chp.... 275 whp with a turbo and a great tune is so much easier and cheaper (in a sense, because nothing is cheap when you want to go fast) than going all motor.. the saying goes, "all motor is the expensive way to go slow."

the vast majority of b20 horror stories out there are due to shitty backyard lsvtec builds where guys (like you) slap a vtec head on there all stock or near stock and start revving it to 9k rpms. idiots. the other reason b20s break is getting greedy with the boost on stock sleeves, they are thin and they will crack if you push your luck. ask me how i know.

 Only as much as any other crappily put together engine. Damn, you really have a lot to learn...

Most people do realize the difference.

Yup and yup. But the stock sleeve will still take 350-400whp reliably with the right tune.

Not unless you are looking to bore for larger diameter pistons. Forced induction really is the way to go for anything above a very mild all motor build. There's just not enough there to produce the numbers you are looking for while keeping some sort of budget and streetability.

I would definitely drive it a while before doing anything to it. What type of car are you used to driving? Because if it's NOT a high hp front wheel drive car you might think twice about building up a 300hp Civic. It's NOT the same as a 300hp Mustang, for example.
