HOndaswap has been around since 02' and this will be it's 4th new year. This year has been big for alot of people, we have moved out of our mom's house :), got new cars, engaged/married and just matured. I know hondaswap has changed me alot this year but how has it changed you? For me it was learning that i dont need to have a fast honda anymore. That is why i drive my stock dx. Also trading my integra five spokes to Ian (gsrcrxsi) for the crx si wheels ( still regret that one) has made a good friendship. I have learned alot through Ian as far as hondas go, and he has learned alot from me, how to whip ass in beer pong. But 2005 will be a year to remember, so share some things hondaswap has done for you :)

addition- steve's (celerity) thread about his trip down south with the new mustang was hilarious and gets my vote for funniest thread of this year. :)

Thanks, I never told you about the after calls of that one.. the fallout if you will. I got a bill in the mail for $125 for "Delivery Penalty". I called up and the manager said that I tricked one of his employees into giving me the Mustang and he was going to bill me the difference. He billed my company, and to make it go away I just signed over the check.

Anyway, I learned that there is a distinct culture about Honda owners, I learned that the younger you are the more likely you are to be a Democrat.
I learned not to be too out of hand, and not so foaming at the mouth defending my convictions and I learned that the natural progression (Or regression) for the Honda owner is to buy a WRX.

    -> Steve

thread of the year will happen on tuesday. (after x-mass.) i'll whip together some nomenies, etc and make a nice thread about them.

This year has been huge for me.

new car, new house, new life basically... but i don't think HS has changed me that much.

and for the record, we've been around since 2001... but phpbb crashed and i started over int he fall of 02 with invision.

    ...you didn't know that?

There's a saying about how every vibrant, young, naive person is a democrat and by the time they've learned the world and become bitter and old, they're republicans.

Thats not even close to the saying, just the idea behind the saying.

as people make more money they tend to get more republican, as they get more educated they tend to get more democrat...

and i think so many people buying houses on hondaswap is pretty cool cause i have lots of people to ask questions to...

side note: have an accepted off and a much nicer house just came on the market
    [IMG]
1 acre plus, ranch, private, useable land trees etc etc...

just because they accepted your offer does not mean you have to buy it.

usually you make a $500 deposit with the offer to show you're serious.
    7 days later, another $500.

this $1000 is refundable up to a certain amount of days... check your offer contract.

You can even back out for a full refund if the home inspection doesn't go as good as you would have hoped. until you close, you are free to back out.

i only gave them a 300 deposit after my realtor more or less told me i HAVE to...

still haven't done the structural inspection which apparently is common practice to do within 10-14 days after they accept the offer...

i'm not really in a big rush to sign my life away to a mortgage
    houses suck ass...

they listed it as 1 acre, but now i found out its only .7 acres...

mortgage is gonna be around 900 a month, and the other "unit" besides the one i will live in rents for 750 a month, with elec and heat included...
this place will be cheaper than my already absurdely low rent of 400 a month with heat included...

i might end up using the inspection as an out actually... :cry2:

I've learned that threads that actually talk about Hondas are like number 5 on the list of popular threads :)

Which is neat.. I go here even though I have no more Honda technical needs here. In fact, with CRX going out the door, and my mom driving my Civic I dont' really own a Honda anymore. I'll continue coming here for the social aspect.

I learned that no matter how shitty your luck is, there is always someone out there with worse luck. (92CivicB18B1)

I also learned that stupidty IS contagious, and everyone should stay the hell away from New2TheCarScene. :p

Bought my Z6 head from Blanco, met my first HS member in person (Turbomirage, aka Chris), finnally bought wheels and tires this summer, and managed to survive the dreaded "HS Penis Thread" I made it away fine without seeing Phyre's dick.
