Sadly, one of the most popular and fantastic anime has been licnesed. Thus many great fansubbers have halted subbing the series. Anbu/Aone in particular. Hopefully Aone will continue subbing since they continued with other licensed anime. If not, there will always be dattebayo. I hope the dubbed ones dont suck. Like the manga. WTF is doppleganger???? In japanese its "kage no bushin," Shadow Replication. Anime in America = SHIT (most of the time due to to poor translation)

For those who dont what Naruto is, its posed to be the most popular anime in america. surpassing pokemon, yugioh, and yes, Dragon Ball. Its about a Ninja boy and lots of cool ninja stuff. Need to check it out.

This fucking sucks, dattebayo.....

Ok, AonE has continued the sub. I'm grabbing 122 by AonE right now. It only took about 3 minutes to find out everything I needed to know about who's going to continue grey area subs. Let's just hope they finish it out, and that I can finish watching the series before it becomes some crazy overcommercialized American trading card game. I think they're going to have to edit out quite a bit of the more ah.... "mature" scenes before they air it in the US though, unless they're going to keep it on Adult Swim.

HA! 459 seeds and more coming online every minute... I'll be done with this one in under an hour. :D

Not a big fan of Naruto.....I'm an Evangelion or GITS fan. I'm not really very big into comedy anime....but I am sad to see any anime get hacked up by westernes looking for a quick buck.

I don't have to worry about subbed anime ;)

hell....it's funnier when it's not subbed and kept in its origial form.... :)

I was worried at first too, but i found a place called narutofan.com where there were hosting the torrent for dattebayo's speed sub.
Truthfully i wasnt terribly worried, as the manga has been lisenced for some time (i snagged a few of the shonen jumps with it in it, bleh) and inane is still putting out scanslations.
Cal- where are you getting your anime torrents? I've been using animesuki.com and suprnova (well before suprnova got crapped on) to meet my rabid fansub needs, but any extra sites are always helpful

naruto is the best anime series ever, i have the first 80 episodes on my comp but i got tired of dl'ng them so i stopped :\

i watched DBZ when i was like 15, and pokemon back in the day. Never was really into anime nor do I have any idea what your talking about.

But I hope it works out good for you guys...whatever that may be.

Yup. :) It's pretty much #1 in Japan, and it's one of my favorites too.

Evangelion and GITS are both good too- but I wouldn't exactly call Naruto a "comedy" anime. There's a pretty deep storyline, and humor isn't the focus of the series. Have you watched any of the Stand Alone Complex storylines for GITS?

Well, after it gets licensed for broadcast in the US, it's almost always dubbed and takes a few years to get released in a Japanese language form that you can get your hands on- and fans of the series don't like waiting years to close the gap between the last episode they watched and the rest of the series. :(

Booooooooooo

Well, I have everything that's been released up through 122, all subbed by ANBU/AonE. I can always start dropping episodes on DVDs and anonymously mail them out to people for a small fee. :)

I wouldn't exactly qualify DBZ or Pokemon as "real" anime- to me, those are catering to a much younger and less sophisticated audience than the "good" stuff that everyone fansubs and distributes straight out of Japan. Stuff like Naruto, Prince of Tennis, Twelve Kingdoms, Monster, Bleach, Noir, Full Metal Alchemist/Panic blah blah blah... they're on a completely different level than animes that cater to elementary school age kids.

i dunno, never really watched the other stuff.

well i did see some cartoon porn anime a few times...then that shit got stupid so i turned it off.

cal- this may be a bit off topic, but what fansubs are you currently watching?

for the record.
you cannot even compare naruto to something like dbz.
naruto is the most badass series ever. the fighting kicks ass, the music kicks ass, the art kicks ass, the storyline kicks ass.
its 100 times better then dbz at its finest.

and i may take you up on the dvd thing. i keep filling up my 100gb(media only) hd and have to delete stuff every month. even though im on cable ive pretty much quit dl'n stuff :|

Nope. I'm not talking about more mature stuff as in Hentai (anime porn)... I'm just talking about more mature stuff as in the storylines, quality of animation, and sophistication of character development. A story arc of 15 episodes with real issues, people dying, and real emotion involved is way better than watching Gokuh screaming with his mouth open and head on fire for 15 episodes while he charges some lame attack and his buddies get beaten up by kicks and punches that look like cheap 2 frame animation...

Get a DVD burner! I've got over 300GB of hard drive space, and the only way I can keep enough free space available for all my downloads is to run through a spindle of DVDs every week or two.

gotcha.

Maybe I'll watch a few and see if I like it.

I just sold a DVD burner for like 150 bucks or something like that. I found it in someone's repossed shit, while setting up for our auction. And auctioned the shit off, I told my "unknown apprentice" to bid on it but she was too excited and bought nearly $400 worth of my own shit, if she wanted it she could have has it for free, but I had to end up buying my own shit (kinda).

Back on topic, where can I find these anime things, I wanna check them out.

Cal - I've seen all of the 1st seson of GITS:SAC, I think its the style of anime that throws me off when it comes to Naruto. I like very realistic, artsy anime. I like stuff that has a lot of underlying comentary about society or the human state. I love how psychological Eva is, I love how GITS plays with the idea of what makes us human. I guess, I just never got into naruto, but from what I saw, I didnt really like it.

I listed a ton of sources for Naruto and other animes... but you might want to check out http://www.animesuki.com . It's actually 100% legal to download everything you find there- they don't post up anything that's been licensed for sale/broadcast in the US.

I understand- it's not for everyone, but it does have pretty high appeal to a large audience in Japan and here in the States. You like the darker stuff. Me too. :)

animesuki WILL NOT be seeding torrents for Naruto. They considered license, thus its removed from their site. www.narutofan.com is one of the best sources for Naruto. do a google, there are hordes of site that offer free naruto download. it is immensely popular so there are literally hundreds of sites for it. The story is very deep and touching. Really need to get into it. besides, the action is soooooo awesome. like omg. the fighting, the ninja spells, the summons. if you're a geek or like rpg games, this is the anime for you. it has everything, comedy, action, drama. ITS GREAT

Im so glad Aone is doing it still. They are a great group. And actually some of the dubbed American stuff is great too. Full Metal Alchemist and Rurouni Kenshin has been dubbed beautifully. The voices sound gay, but hey, it contains the same names, music intros, and such. Fuck Tak (aka Takumi).

For Naruto heads, check out Bleach. Its great too.

Yeah, AnimeSuki pulled Naruto- but they are still one of the best and easiest to use sources for fansubbed anime torrents. At least you don't have to worry about the MPAA and RIAA shutting them down and punking the database for lawsuits like LokiTorrent.
