This is one big conspiracy by GM, truth be told, the new owner was driving home and hit a pot hole, that allowed the battery cable to act up causing the rear end to fall apart.

Hopfully the guy gets a whole new car, I'd hate to be that guy when the insurance company says, oh, well the value of the car is enough since its brand new for us to put 20K into repairing it.

Yeah, 45 is a hell of an impact though. It was whacked damn hard.

the car that rammed my rex was going 45mph and i was sitting still - the ass end of my rex didn't look even 1/3 that bad and no glass was broken. i think it shows how shitty the materials are in new cars.

    Not shitty, safety oriented.

the rear is a crumple zone, designed to take the impact and slow it down. Instead of a "bam" and whiplash and impact related injuries, you get the *crunch* of 3 feet of impact absorbing crumple zone.

yea because the steel Honda used in the 80s and early 90s is notorious for how well it holds up...

I was filling up the mother's new 2010 accord Ex today when i leaned on the rear driverside quarter panel, and before all of my weight was even on the panel is pushed in so i quickly stood up. When I got home i leaned on my 97 accord and NO movement what so ever from the panel, even the hood is stronger and WAY thicker...

The shop I go to is my dad's friend. He has done $60k worth of repairs to a Viper that still had temp tags. I would be so pissed if I had shelled out all that cash and then had to drive basically a salvaged car.
