Need advice on B series into EK hatch

for a winter/spring project im going to swap a B series into an EK hatch. any thoughts on whether to go with a B18B, B18C, or a B16B? or any other suggestions on which B to choose. im not looking to get into a huge mess with this car...trying for a pretty straight-forward swap. With the car being OBD2 will an OBD2 ecu from a jdm engine be compatible with the udsm car or am i better off to go with OBD1?

I would recommend going Obd-1 which has less sensors to deal with and has more tuning options. Well if you decide to go V-tec you have to add the V-tec wiring unless you get the Obd-2 V-tec harness which would make things a lot easier on you.
