    Hi.
Recently, I started thinking about doing an engine swap on an 1998 civic dx, and quite frankly, I know almost nothing about doing an engine swap. Could you give me advice on what engine would fit, an estimate on how much everything would cost, etc.?
    Thanks in advance ;)

Welcome to Hondaswap! This is a very common question that we get quite often. I would start by reading up in here: Technical Articles and Reference - HondaSwap Forums. Anything referring to the "EG (92-95)" and "EK (96-00)" chassis will usually pertain to you.

An engine swap will cost you anywhere from $500 - 10,000 depending on what you goals are and whether or not you do the work yourself. First identify what you want out of the car and go from there.

Anything B-series or D-series will be a bolt-in swap for you. H-series, K-series, and the J-series V6 engines will work also, but those are not exactly bolt-in...

I doubt that, unless you're buying from some shady dude on Craigslist and the motor's ID is scratched off...
