NEED HELP ASAP! 92 vx help

I got a 92 eg VX hatch and just recently the trans went
i got a transmission with the code; s40 2067306
ive looked around and i think its a d16y8

i kinda wanted to try out a short geared tranny on this block and its all hydro but some kid was tellin me it wasnt gonna work


what im tryin to get at is that the motor in my car is the d15z1 and i was wondering will this transmission bolt up? what will i need to change out? axels? ect

ive looked around and have yet to get any kind of guidance on this..pleaseee help lol

i think that might be the wrong trans code...? it should either be A000 or B000. B000 would be the one your looking for. well its the more agressive D-series trans. you can find it above the fill plug, it should be in a stamped circle. anyways hope this helps.

s40 is 96-00 hydro
s20 is 92-95 hydro
A000 is DX\LX (long gear)
B000 is EX\SI(short gear)
all these transmissions will bolt up to a d-series motor
all these transmissions use the same axles.

A D series tranny will bolt up to a D series motor and work. Wether you want a long or short gear tranny is up to you
