I need help with my D16Y8 project I am trying to start the car after 4 years. Everything under the hood its new includind a tranny swap... When I try to start the engine it makes only a sound like TAK TAK and there is no sign of starting at all. I was thinking a bad starter.</p>

is it a quick ticking? if so its probably the starter. when swaping my old motors out my buddy accadentaly pulled out one of the wires going into the starter. it made that sound when i tried to start it i ended up duct taping the wire into the starter (i know ghetto fab) but now im asking around for quotes to drop my lsd b18c1 (i cant do it myself im in afghanistan)

Are you sure your battery isn't dead? You can test the starter yourself by using this site. Or some auto stores may test it for you.

do you hear the motor turn over or when you turn the start key and crank it over are the power steering belts and stuff like that turning?? if there turning then i dont think its your starter cause its cranking your engine.

man we really cant help you out unless you can tell us weather or not your motor is cranking over, or you can go spend 100 bucks or w/e and buy a starter and it may not be your problem.

I believed the dizzy is not getting power... I will go over the wiring of the 5 speed swap but I am almost sure that I made something wrong... What should I need to look for to. Made sure that the dizzy is getting power? What wires I need to put together when doing the 5 speed swap?
