ok well ive been looking at a few filters and cant really decide the difference between them.

heres the ones im looking at

http://knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RF-1036
http://knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-3100
http://knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-2960

my main confusion is in the part numbers. one is RF, one is RC, one is RU. anyone know what these designations mean? i mean is the only difference the top style?

also where could i get these filters? these arent exactly off the shelf sizes. i know autozone and stuff carries k&n but can they order anysize?

i would think all k&n filters would perform the same...the only diff. is the way they look

:werd: they have slightly different dimentions but the major differance seems to be the top cap material

:werd: :withstupid: 's And just what are those hefty suckers going on?! 6"!?!? Good lord!

hey man thanks for the link. they really do have great prices ! got my filter the ru-3100 for only 40 bucks shipped 2 day! thanks again.

damn, they just emailed me saying that they dont have it in stock  gotta wait a little bit for it now. weak

I hate it when people do that.. They should plainly list on the sight that they do carry the product, but it is currently out of stock.

AJUSA's customer service and service period has been outstanding for me,I've ordered 3 filters from them and the off road only one I wanted was out of stock for 4 days so they got it fairly quick for me then sent a filterwrap with it by mistake and me beliveing in karma called to tell them and they said just keep it,$18 was the price for it on thier site....whoohoo but it was cool regardless.

jus got the filter. looks great :) and yes AJUSA had great cust. service. great price on the filter too, only 35 bucks. i ended up with the RU-3100. its HUGE but fits nicely :)

Coooool. You got the exact same one that I would have picked out of the three. It had the most surface area out of your choices, and the rubber cap will be quieter (no metal to rattle against). Great minds think alike. :)

Does it all fit under the hood?

im not sure on fitment yet, i havent tried, but im sure it will. i wont have the battery or air box in my way. plus ive seen similar setups in a crx that fit.

and yea there is a lot of surface area. i calculated the filter element area to approx. 2.4 sq.ft. and yea i liked the rubber cap too :)
