Need help with '88 CRX

I was driving my CRX last night and smelled something burning. I saw little puffs of smoke coming from my steering wheel and then my headlights flickered on and off. I think I may need a new headlight switch, but am not sure that is the cause of the smell. Is this an easy repair and something I can do myself? I do not know much about cars.

well look under your dash and see if there are any wires that are messed up and just go over any thing that is connected electrically for your headlights its gotta be a short

Wow thats weird most likely electrical. Go through all your wires behind your dash and check the obvious stuff
