Need help with a part, b16 head

    So i was taking the head off my b16a swapped crx to change the head gasket. i tilted the head over sideways to clean the sealing surface and this little piece fell out of the top. for the life of me i can't figure out where it goes.

    looks like a dowel pin ? maybe looks a little short.
    have any other angles? pics of it next to a sizable object (ie, a coin)

    Every cam cap has all of their dowel pins. the end caps near the cam gears have their dowels in the actual head. i can't find a place for this thing, maybe it was left loose inside there from the last guy who owned this car?

    Its too thick to be a dowel pin I thought it was one of the block/head surface at first, and doesnt appear to be a part of the head ive had my fair share of bseries stuff completely apart, id say set it aside and reassemble and pay attention, could have been floating around for some time now

    did you take the intake manifold off the head?

    i did take the intake off, maybe it's part of that?

    I'm thinking it might be a spacer, but i can't quite place it....
