need help

ok i have motor in an 89 civic dx.. Now i just bought another car its an 88 civic-- dont know if it is dx or whatever---- so need help finding out what that is.. THen i need to know if this zc motor will work in this 88 civic and which block it is as well..... I have numbers-- from both--- i dotn want to buy parts and it be for wrong engine...

the ZC you need has a black valve cover and the valve cover bolts are on the outside edges

if its a browntop (brown/olive valve cover) and the bolts are on the inside near the spark plugs its the wrong generation ZC

yea found that out ------- thanks for replying---- wil it bolt up in a 88 civic... everything should right? We are takin the tranny and engine--- 88-91 civic the same right ??? New to the honda scene...
