need info on my muffler?

i was wondering because a person told me that if i had my exhaust end at the flange by the back wheel before my muffler that it will fuck up my engine. i dont know if thats true or not,any info is appreaciated thanks. and my cars only been like this for a day because i took it off b/c it sounds better and i figured less backpressure is better.
 
^ i cosign that but when my "speedy deamon" was running i was running straight from the header. how would you describe that sound? :)
 
yea...i remember when i was riding around with no muffler before i installed the newer setup...that was not too pleasing of a sound...lol
 
Running with open ports and nothing at all bolted to the exhaust side of your engine probably isn't good, but missing a muffler? Nah. No big deal.
