ok so my friend with a newer gt got back from the track yesterday. he said that he ran his usual 14 flat but got owned by another friends brand new camaro that ran a 13.1. the camaro kid stopped by and claimed it was stock. i think its the ss but i cant remember. i also heard him leave..didnt sound extra loud like a disconnected cat and i didnt hear a supercharger. is it possible that its stock? also not sure if this post is in the right spot.

i would have a hard time believing a SS could run 13.1 BONE Stock with zero mods....I would assume he has mods like LT headers, exhaust ect...

Oh Comon... a Corvette guy can't believe an SS can hit those times? I've seen mid 12 second slips from a stock SS.

You do realize that the LS1 and LS6 are completely interchangable right?

Some 00-02 Z28/SS models got the LS6 block/pistons with the LS1 head/intake exhaust.

Others have an LS1 with corvette LS1 exhaust.

I was on two different fbody boards before those crackwhore attitude problems banned me for having opinions, I've SEEN stock LS1s do 12.7s.

the Fbody Camaro/Firebired was cancelled in 2001 with the last Camaro being a Red Z28 built in September of 02.

The fucker sold at auction for something like 70 thousand dollars.

So no, there is no fbody twin pony cars.

However, it may have had temp plates because someone just bought it off a used dealer lot.

Edit:

Both are the fourth generation of the car...

1993-1997 body style. Came with a 3.4 (and i've been told the optional 3.8) V6, 4A/5M or a 5.7L 275 hp V8 (285 hp in 96-97) with a 4A/6M.

1998-2002 body style. Came with a 3.8L V6 with a 4A/5M or a 5.7L 305-310 Z28 and 310-325 hp SS motor. Both were LS1s, and they were seriously underrated. the 2002 Z28/SS claimed 325 crank hp and I've seen them dyno 317 to the wheels.
