i went out and bought a new cd player for the truck today. i got a JVC KD-G310 cd/mp3/wma player at Circuit City for $89.99 and a wiring harness and installation kit for $25 at D & B Sales which is a local car audio/tool supply place. heres the link to the deck i bought: JVC KD-G310

it sounds good for spending about $125 total and im happy :)

yeah my girlfriend bought me a new Sony Xplode CD player  got it at best buy this morning, I would of started a thread for myself but i figured we can compare the 2 decks for others to see...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099389701695

^^that's the one she got for me. it has every feature I wanted. MP3/WMA player, sub-pre outs with sub control, and a decent anti-shock system... it was on sale in store for $99.99 and with the 4 year warranty the total was $128.xx. I already have the harnesses so i'm good to go on that.

 to having new radios

not a bad deck ya got there B16. i actually looked at that one at Best Buy when i was looking around. i just found it unappealing to look at. looks plain...lol. but functions wise its pretty good.

on a side note, the frickin remote for my deck is tiny. heres a pic of it in front of a 12oz can of Pepsi to show you how small it is:

Dude... that remote is tiny as shit.

If you compare that thing to my remote, it would look like my remote gave birth to yours.

Brians deck

Since we're on the note of people getting new things... I just purchased a laptop.

you know something BDN, the plain looking style was more appealing to me. it would make someone think it was a an old cheapo deck. the only thing is mine didn't come with a remote but the manual says it's compatable with any of the other Xplode remotes. my friend has an extra one since he sold his but forgot to give the guy a remote +1 for me, yay!!! :)

and every single feature is exactly what I wanted

BTW-for some reason I can't click on the link to see what deck you got

James, what kinda Lap Top did you get?

Do you have a block up popper on? Might be why you can't see the link to his deck.

Anyway, I got basically the bottom end Laptop. It is a Dell... just like my desktop. (which I haven't seemed to have a whole lot of major problems with)

Inspiron 2200 Intel® Celeron® M Processor 360 (1.40 GHz/1MB Cache/400MHz FSB)
LCD Panel 15.0in XGA Display
Memory 512MB Shared DDR SDRAM, 2 DIMMS
Hard Drive 40GB 5400rpm Ultra ATA Hard Drive
Operating System (Office software not included) Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition WHXP
Network Card Integrated Network Card
Modem Internal 56K Modem
Adobe Software Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 6.0
Combo/DVD+RW Drives 24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive 24COMBO
Wireless Networking Card FREE! Dell 1370 Internal Wireless (802.11b/g, 54Mbps)
Office Software (not included in Windows XP) No productivity suite- Corel WordPerfect word processor only
Anti-Virus/Security Suite (Pre-installed) No Security Subscription
Digital Music Musicmatch by Yahoo!â„¢ Music- Entry level with 90 days of On Demand
Primary Battery 8-Cell NiMH Primary Battery (43 WHr)

This isn't in any comparison to my desktop; 2.66ghz, 200gb harddrive, 1gig of ram, 17inch monitor, etc. But it'll suit my needs quite well for what I wanna use it for. I'd like to be able to rip out that 56k modem and sell it then start to personalize it without paying the finance charges on upgrades.

$627 bucks after the instant 150 rebate, plus they're sending me another 100 dollar rebate with the laptop.

I just got an Alpine CDA-9847 for my car. Love it

The Rotary encoder buggs at first, but when you get used to it, its actually pretty freakin' cool. MP3 text is cool, they have a nice search function that doesn't interrupt the music until you select the track you are after. It keeps playing while you scroll through the songs. And it didn't come with a remote, but I could give less shit about that. My last two systems came with remotes and I never used either of them.

I perfer pioneer HU's. I can get the DEH-3600 for 152 bucks at walmart.

I really enjoyed my Pioneer deck. I had it in both my Geo and Escort. When I sold the Escort it stayed with the car.

Then I got a Kenwood KDC for the Civic, and although I like it quite a bit. I don't like the "fold down face" option of it.

i could have sold you a slightly used toshiba satellite 2.66ghz p4 lappy for 400 bucks shipped.

I've had pioneers in all my cars, watched them come and go. Even the cheapest "base model" DEH-1700 is a damn good reciever.

nice DECKS guys. lol. my favorite was the deh-1500. very plain and simple, yet powerful. i like the Alpine look also. I have owened 2 alpines and both couln't handle the JL BASS.
I have no deck in my crx so i'm asking for 150 cheap alpine for christmas.or pioneer. Now that i think of it i have no speakers either(damn).
any ways congrats on your toys dudes!

I'm still looking for an Alpine CDA-9855 cheap... about $350 shipped is the best I can seem to get.

Anyone want my CDA-7998? It still looks and works 100%- just won't talk to the iPod 100%. Retail on it was $800... so I'm taking any reasonable offers. It's still one of the cleanest decks Alpine ever made. :)

Ehh, I'm not impressed with Alpine. My Aunt used to work there and build their units out in IN. For the price theres better stuff out there. She sports a Pioneer in her Accord.

I hate hoe the cut off all of a sudden and come back on. Or they skip when the bass hit(13w7 with 1000/1). Pioneer has the best bang for your buck imo. They look good dont cost that much......depends on the features.

nice find on your deck DPN's. The last time i spend under 100 bucks on a cd player was in a pawn shop
