Made from leftovers of my kitchen remodel.

I weathered the wood to oxidize to make a completely rustic feel. Not to shabby IMO!

    looks great.
cant wait to have a work area to start doing these kinds of things.

apparently, i read, you can use apple cider vinegar and steel wool to age wood.
have yet to try it. living in a rental sucks.

That's what was used to oxidize the wood above. Since I was using a low tannin wood, I brewed about 5 or 6 black tea bags and "painted" the coffee table to give it more tannins. I did two coats and let it soak for a week. THe oxidation process is almost immediate, I let sit for a few hours then started to put the finish coats of wax on.

Looking good, I want to get back into woodworking. Once I find a house, I will get a work shop going.

Which pocket hole system are you using?

I like using pallets for projects like this. The wood is free and it comes pre weathered.

I have several pallets that I've turned into chairs at my dad's house. He and I used to use pallet wood for EVERYTHING.

speaking of beer, I need to get a new batch going. :(

Bob - any chance you'd be interested in doing some side work? It's nothing fancy and its quite boring but it would put a few bucks in your pocket.
