Fucking bastards, I know exactly what you mean. I had a virus in my computer a few weeks ago, had to pay $80 to get it fix, and now I have a shit load of spyware that I can't get rid off.

Why in the world did you pay $80 to get rid of a virus?

I paid that much because I couldn't do it myself, I had them completely remove windows and re-install it.

Well I just downloaded Mozilla, after B. asked why we were still using IE. Mozilla own IE, B was right, it loads up so much faster. Thanks B, appreciate the advice.

I prefer Firefox to the original Mozilla, however they are both pretty much the same thing.

I'm on a 5-year old Toshiba laptop computer... and I'm not messing around with it. Everything on it works just fine. But thanks for the suggestion anyway B...

pop ups- yes, but it cannot complis activeX nor vbscript controls, which are the leading causes of spyware and on the fly installs.

hell, even in IE when you go to a page that has an mp3 embedded to play- mozilla will pop open the Download/save box- so you KNOW what you are downloading... nto IE- it gives you all the shit.

I have adaware, but it still doesn't get rid of the crap. I deleted cookies and everything, don't know what the hell to do.

Download the programs I listed, and run them. Adaware is good, and you can make it better by changing the settings, just ask E, but hte others are way more complete, even the free versions.

and that's why people like you, and others who aren't savy, keep having spyware problems.

activeX is a DOM component which runs executibles within internet explorer- for example- I'm sure you've seen windows media player play a movie ON the webpage itself, instead of opening up the media player. That's active X. While movies are <usually> harlmess, other things are not. Esp on porn sites

The problem came up when I was using Yahoo to chat with my GF, and she gave me a link to the Nevada emissions laws, and it sent me to a fuckin' porn site and it started from there, I downloaded those 2 programs and it didn't get rid of the shit. I am probably going to have to send it back again to be completely erased download all the protection, set it on high and just be extremely careful of where I go.
