whats up i hope this is the right place for this but i dont see a newb section so i just wonted to say whats up. i have known about this site for years and just decided to join. others here might know me on team-integra.net and g2ic.com (91dadaily). I have a 91 da9 with a ls in it right now but im going to boost a B20/vtec and i also have a 89 Crx that i have set aside for the integra. i did a wire tuck engine shave and power steering relocation in the engine bay. i also have Innovative mounts with S80 hydro tranny and innovative traction bar. bought the car for $500 no rust 3rd owner garage kept since 91. has a egay 4-1 header tight now. I have a b20 i plan on boosting in the future with my pr3 head that has a star that was made during the casting (people call it the blacksheep head). pics of some work on it.
thanks for the welcomes. i was planning on doing the mugen license plate bolts for new fender radiator etc bolts but i think i might get those password ones there cheaper and you get more in set instead of 2 for like $25.
right of now my back calipers are frozen on me so i cant take any pics outside my driveway. I have a B20 that i plan to boost later but right now ima throw my B16 head on it and a 75shot. the motor in the car is just a back up in case something blows. im just hoping the block will hold it i know honda bores the hell out of sleeves to make it a 2.0 so thin nickle sleeves are a worry right now.
explain more on the subject please im not reving it high right now but would like to know what you are meaning. should i be looing into crank moving or something.
i think the B20 has a red line of about 6500k i think the ls motors use the same rod bolts as the B16 so when a B18A/B starts pushing revs the rod bolts can't handle it and become the weak point I don't know about the B20 rods bolts/rods but you should research it before you go throwing a vtec head on because you're going to want to rev the shit out of it for top end power someone chime in if i'm wrong with any of this
recked is right...the ls rod bolts are weak when in the higher rpm's///and throwing a b16 head on..you will want to rev high..so look for some arp bolts...
does arp have stock replacement rod bolts? im not worried to much cause it will be out at the end of this race season getting sleeved and new pistons rods etc for boost next year. the block is in my garage rigt now and i could swap out bolts real quick if there is a replacement so it can take the revs. i know ARP has them for aftermarket rods cause i have a set in my B16 eagle rods.
wait i think i found some part numbers Honda/Acura 1.2L, 1.6L, & 1.8L M8 Part # 206-6001 if someone can verify this i would appreciate it.
ARP does make replacements as for the part numbers, not sure, check their site and read up on ARP bolt stretching in case they need to be stretched prior to installation
