New pads on bad rotors

Ok, so out of desperation I put brand new pads onto some pretty crappy rotors. The pads did a good job comforming to all the grooves in the rotors, but now I want to put my new rotors on. I am wondering if the pads that are on the grooved rotors would do damage to the new pads, or would the pad just take a little bit, and eventually comform (without damaging) to the new rotor?

FYI:
1996 LS Sedan, stock rotors, Axxis MM brake pads

those pads will end up fucking up the new rotors
not as bad as the old ones are but still
i highly recommend putting new pads on with the new rotors

Dude what is the most important thing to have working well when you drive a 2000lb car fast? Good brakes. Replace the pads too. Their relatively cheap and that extra 50ft. in stopping distance could save your ass.

Yea, and no matter how broke you are... it only cost $7 a rotor to get em turned. Just get new rotors and pads... you'll be good.
