I just changed all the gaskets in the motor and put it all back together and new exhaust sys. I took it out for a test a minute ago and it got hot, real hot like almost overheated in 5 miles. everything sounds good and I did see some other posts about the thermostat

I did not even see a thermostat when I went through it.

it is an 89 crx dx
with a D16A6

I put all new hoses on and I smell rubber burning

What did I do wrong

I have to drive this car 340 miles tommorrow

please help me if you can.

Well I have been out there all night going through everything to make sure no kinks or missed hoses,

I did the boil it test to the Therm and it opened up like shamoo at lunch,

I am out of ideas.

any suggestions???

shamu at lunch omg haha

did you bleed the air out of the coolant? is the heater core blocked up?

looks like a brake bleeder on the front of the head. bleed it while the car is running, but BE CAREFUL.

while the car is COOL, open the radiator cap, and start the car. let it idle until it gets warm, and watch the coolant. You should see it flowing in there, and if you rev the car by hand, you should see the level rising and dropping. If that happens, your water pump is probably ok.

Perhaps a clogged radiator?

I hate to even ask... but did you remember to put oil in the motor? use assembly lube when putting it back together?
