I just want to say that swaping a sohc into a B18 is rice!!!

ok buddy
sohc still slow, you have much to learn young grasshopper

Don't worry, I'll be building up a SOHC VTEC on the cheap in my CRX... it's just still a "swap".

There's no reason to leave the board just because the owner asks you to follow the rules. Stick around- we do a lot more than just swaps around here.

why can't you? it's written right there, plain as day...i believe that he said that.

edit: don't let me rub off as rude...lol...learn from everyone else....don't pay any attention to me...lol

seriously though

what do you run with your built up sohc?

there are reasons for staying with an sonc but i dont thinkk hes got the right ones.....that there boy just aint right..

Stick around SOHC's rule the SOHC scene i had 2 sohc civics but since i heard the saying

Comparing a DOHC to a SOHC is like comparing CHOCOLATE with SHIT...

:) Just havin Fun Swaps are challenging Fun hard and Knowledgable blah....blah...blah

You can easily run 14's N/A on well tuned D16Z6 with just I/H/E and slicks.... (many B18's would have to boost and still wont make 13's)

By swaping to a B18, you're just adding uneccesary weight which is more prone to detonation and stressful wear...
You can make a Z6 head breathe better than a B18's by just portnig it and putting oversize valves, not even needing to add a cam...

Needless to say how expensive B series parts are and how bad of a displacement to power ratio they have...

Regardless, whatever a B18 can do, a SOHC can do better...

lol, where did you get your info from the tooth fairy?
looks like you're trying to bash B series, but everything you've said so far is :bs:

Wasnt hard to notice that...

Yours say B16 tho... That's like the ZC or the D16A1 engine... Those were like the D-series dohc versions..

Im talking more about the B18's and all their DOHC family... Just swaping your SOHC for one of those, its gonna make you slower!!!
Also the H and F dohc Series... I eat them for breakfast!!

How are you coming up with this? Any b18a will smoke a d16z6 stock? A mildy modded b18a will smoke a mildly modded d16z6. Are you just stating going from a mildly modded dseries to a bseries, isn't worth the extra money? Seriously I say just buy a turbo kit and then aftger you modded the dseries and can't get shit, upgrade to the bseries.

14's in the 1/8. :p

And a properly tuned B18 can easily run 13s all motor.

Pull your head from your ass, sohc = teh ghey.

edit/ no offense tony. :D

time slip is about 3 months old prior to my zex wet kit which has been sold prior to runnin on the 1/4. hmmmmn so whats wrong with a dseries? time slip of my 91 crx hf with a d15b2. all the work is custom and done by me. all for under 1 grand. what was that about 14 sec 1/8? lemme see a n/a b18 pull a 13 sec run on street tires.

if you know what your doing the money you spend on your b block and bolt ons can have you haulin a!@ down the quarter faster than ur b block on the same budget. needless to say replacement d blocks are easier to come by. now dont get me wrong the b blocks are good for one thing in my book...all out power if you have the money. how many people actually have the funds for that kinda work to be done? the d block is an economical base to build on. not to mention lighter and more versitial if your into auto-xing.

our rules here are VERY leaniant.
https://hondaswap.com/forums/index.php?...?act=boardrules

we aren't ban happy. we just like to keep things "professional". no porn, no annoying pics for no good reason, and pretty much anything else flies.

Rules:
-----------------------------------
Post your topic once. There is no need to post multiple times in multiple forums asking the same question.

Use proper grammer, puncuaction, and spelling as much as possible. It makes reading and understanding your question easier.

All posts are to be Work Safe. This includes any type of risque' pictures, porn, or any links to sites that have uncontrollable pop-ups, and so forth. If you think someone shouldn't view the topic at work, but isn't "bad" so to speak, place a "**Work Warning**" in the subject of your post. Even with a work warning, porn and pop-up sites are not welcome here.

Avatars are to also be considered work safe

Please, do not post an image in your signature. If you do, it will be removed by a moderator. It gets annoying seeing the same pic you have there everytime you post. If people want to see your car, they will find your gallery or ask in a PM.

If you are unsure of anything, first please click the "Help" link at the top of the page. If you are still having problems, make a post in the "Site News" forum located in the members corner. As a last resort, you may email the admin, at webmaster@hondaswap.com

ok buddy
sohc still slow

I cant beleive you said that... LMAO... :bo: :lmao:

The time for talk is over. Spark it or park it, fucker. Let's see timeslips and/ or video. BTW- unless you're boosted or running an unstreetable setup in an unstreetable car, D series aren't fast. Sorry man. Don't hate me because I'm right.

I don't agree- the D can still be fast, and for not too much money... the B is just a hell of a lot easier, and still my weapon of choice in the car that matters to me though.

I'm very glad to see dirty91crx over here from the D series boards- welcome!
