    Hi guys,
i am brand new to the whole idea of engine swapping in hondas.
My main goal right now is to build a any year civic under a 2000 with a B18c1 engine. And at some point put a turbo charger on it.

The problem for me is i dont know about the ECM and wiring harness.
When i have the whole engine, harness and ecu, is that total seperate from the rest of the cars wiring?
And what are all of these differnt obd1 to obd2 connectors or obd2 to obd1 and etc?
Is it best if i have a obd1 car to stay with a obd1 engine? and vise versa?

I am greatful for any help.
    Thx
    TJ

    obd1 cars are from 92-95
    obd2a cars are from 96-99
    obd2b cars are later

This is how I would go about it.

    1. Pick out your car. Whichever you like the best.
    2. Decide which motor to use. Same obd as car will make things slightly easier.
    3. Use an engine harness specific to your car, not motor (ex: integra engine harness won't work in a 96+ civic).
    4. Drop the motor in, and add any wiring if it is needed (vtec, 4 wire o2, ect...)
    5. Buy the correct jumper harness and run an obd1 ecu
