I have a complete zex nitrous kit that came installed on my car but it was missing the bottle. Do I have to buy a ZEX bottle for it or can I use any kind of bottle like NOS or any other brand or should I stick with the ZEX.

I cannot think of a reason why you would have to use a zex bottle. Unless they have a proprietary valve and nossle (which is highly unlikely) you should just be able to use any bottle you want.

I figured I would not matter but I was hoping someone would know because I know zex uses some kind of system were the bottle pressure is monitored to ensure proper mixture but I wasn't sure if it had anything to do with the bottle. Anyone know for sure. I am tired of trying to bid on zex bottles as they are hard to find cheap but the NOS brand bottle go for a bit less and I am all about saving money

any reason why this is in forced induction?

because nitrous is a form of forced induction? thats a pretty obvious reason.

please tell me your joking

lol how is it forced induction?

thats like saying runing 112 octane is forced induction

theres nothing forced about it (well not induction wise)

all nitrous is is somthing that will burn better

:werd:

This should probably be in General Performance.

If this section was labled "Power Adders" - yes, but forced induction? No.

we're not having this debate again. nitrous belongs here.

not to be a cock but why?

because nitrous is forced induction. do a search. theres like a 4 page thread on this...

because it changes the density of the gas and forces more air and fuel into the chamber.

sounds like forced induction to me.

Thanks and that is exactly why I though it should go here. So has anyone ever used a different brand bottle with a zex kit. Anything special about the zex bottle.
