As the topic description says, things did not go all as i planed.. I thought i could find a crx,do a b18 engine swap build it up and then turbo it. Well as things go, it did not happen :(


I just turned 16 augest 1, I woke up extra early and we went to the dmv. I got my permit and then went to my local high school to get my working papers. (Im working in an autobody shop now :) ) Anywaz i go home and we are watching a specail on espn about a car show and stuff and befor that my mom was like we are going to ford to look at cars, This was almost a free car i could not say no, So an hour or so passes and everyone gose upstairs and makes a sorta big deal about something, i look into the family room and their a big box with a bunch of stuff in it, (time to shorten this) well after getting a model of a riced out supra and keychains and a wallet and some tools for school, Their was one last box for me to open. I opened it and their was a pair of keys in it, Time stoped as i look to see the brand of name was on the keys, It said ford.. i did not care it was a car and i wanted it now!,lol. My sister said to look where my dad usealy parks his car,so i did.. and i saw a blue mustang!... I ran and unlocked it and was just stunned my mouth droped and i was so excied, I quickly did what any gearhead would do.. Open the hood, :p :D B) I did not know if it was a v8 or a v6.. I opened the hood and it was a v6.. i thought it was fine.. its a car and its mine.. and its even a 5 speed, Its my car.. I found out it was a 2000 v6 dark blue metalic 5 speed mustang, less then 20k on odometer, I revved the engine and set the radio and everything else.. it felt so great

3 days later im not stalling the car no more and im able to shift perfectly and the cluth is almost becomming 2nd nature to me like it should. I don't know if ill be modding it because it has a 6 year,60,000 mile warrenty, 2morrow im finding out how far i can push my warrenty,lol. The car screams to go faster!, The 220 lbs of torque is their and yes its kicking!, Im sold as far as the car and i doubt ill be getting a honda :unsure: .

Im not here to brag is im much to thanx, I would like to thank pissedoff and esoli for pointing out this site and everything and also the post whores for helping me out on my questions. Ive learned to respect honda's and no matter what anyone says, Honda has balls when put to the test and done right. I wanted to say that befor i became a tottal asso you know because i own a mustang and all :D .

I guess if i mod the v6, I see you all on the NJ drag tracks(because theirs none in ct)

p.s- It takes an idiot to mod a mustang, but it takes a specail idiot to mod a v6 mustang and i think im one of those idiots(maybe)
 
congrats! :D sorry to lose a member to the domestic side, but its all good eh :) you can always hang out in the lounge and tell us about all the riced up hondas you killed :lol:

i will never drive a mustang. 'specially my friends.

picture this kid who thinks hes the coolest kid ever, who knows everythign about cars and such.. had a white f250 12" lift 38" mudders, purely badass..

well he sold the f250 and bought a purple v6 mustang. yes i said PURPLE. he raced me and beat me by about 3/4 of a car *nearly stock accord, stock v6 mustang* and now he just rubs it in like no other.

you ever beat a honda, dont rub it in. next time i see him i will be running mid to low 14's and be able to beat v8 mustangs.

i miss the excitement of getting your 1st car, such a great feeling..reading your post made me happy too lol :lol:

congrats!

just think of it this way: everything to can do to a honda you can do to a v6 mustang, the end results will be much more power and more torque. I say keep it, do some reliability mods and turbo it. then you have a v6 turbo rwd monster.
 
You really don't know how difficult/expensive it is to add a good turbo setup to a V6, do you?

I'd say do some basic N/A mods, and maybe the Vortech SC kit if you want to go that route. You'll be keeping up with Cobra's! ;)

they have a huge area for the V6 'stangs and a lot of them are done fairly nice and are very quick.
there's also a site called v6power.com or somthing like it that you'll need to read up on.
muscle mustangs & fast fords is also a great magazine to read.

I'm pretty much in the same place as edricklongtail. I'm 17 and for the longest time, I wanted to get an EK hatch and drop in a B18C5 (still want it) but my parents would pay for it and werent willing to play around w/ swapping engines. So instead of a Honda I got a 00 VW GTI w/ the 1.8T cuz finding a decent prelude is damn near impossible in San Diego. Im happy w/ it even though the engine is pretty sad from the factory :( . Hopefully I'll have a EG hatch before i graduate college. Honda is still by far my fav car company. :thumbsup:

Good call, I don't blame you. Shhh, dont' tell anyone but my first ride was a nice red miata, well actually second ride but my first brand new car. But the bottle in the trunk helped her run with the v8's.

Now you can just buy my EF shell and make a track car out of it. :)

heres what u do... go find an old thunderbird SC with a good supercharger and just swap that over it would cost u like $800 and u will be putting down some good HP. I think they are the same engines, not sure though. Once thats done get a nice big exhaust and u will be set for a nice 12-13 sec car!!!
 
sorry to tell ya Brian but i had an 1988 Thunderbird and it had a 5.0L V8 in it. it would pass everything but a gas station.
 
It's posts like that that make me wanna junk my escort and buy an older fbody IROC Z or Foxbody GT. But alas, I still can't afford insurance on a V8. Congrats on the car, have fun with it. Even with the 3.8L V6 you're still pushing 193 hp and 225 tq. That's good for that engine size, but I know there is a lot of aftermarket bolt ons for even the V6s. exhaust, intake, headers, cams, TBs. I bet edelbrock makes some good stuff for them. Check it out and just remember what Ford doesn't know, won't hurt them or the warrenty :D
