Well I got a letter last night saying that the bank couldn't approve my loan for some frivilous bullshit. I took the car back, beat the hell out of it, got my down payment (300) back and left.

Today is another slow day so me and my brother went to the Honda, VW, Ford, Subaru (acura), and Dodge dealers to get some cards and look at some cars.

Subaru had a nice 2.5RS 5 speed (blue) sittin there for 19k base for an 04.

The Honda dealer had a 00 SI with 31k miles on it. They wanted 15997 for it. It's black with factory foglamps and the body kit.

I was looking at Jettas and Golfs at the VW dealership, but nothing struck my fancy.

Ford and Dodge didn't have much of anything worthwhile.

The only problem with the Subaru Dealership is that the fuckin ass Bob Rohrman owns it. He also owns the Nissan dealer I went through with my V. Apparently they finance and release vehicles before the credit is approved. So I drove a brand new car for almost two weeks for free, without even being approved for it. :unsure:


So I have to work tonight...and I get to drive my Escort out there...I already ripped out my fucking sub and amp.
 
Ohhhhhh shit man that sucks. What were the reasons they couldn't give you the loan for?

$19k for a new 2.5RS isn't a bad deal. Come join the Scooby club. :) Hell, for $19k....that's what I payed for my '02 WRX with only 20k miles on it. Maybe try for a used one of those?
 
I don't think I'll ever buy a car from a big dealership. I've bought one car other than my stratus. I got my 88 civic for $200 from a guy I know who owns a small side of the road car lot.
My aunt tried to take her 94 Saturn Sc to the Honda dealership to trade in for her new accord. They were gonna give her $100 for it. I told her I'd sell it for $2000 in a week. Big dealerships are fuckers. Buy used. Your ass won't hurt afterwards...
 
Dude, I'm telling you - look at the Mazdaspeed Protege. With a boost controler to change the boost, they can put down an easy 200hp. They already have suspension, sick stereo, short shifter, racing hart wheels, pedals, cool interior, FMIC, and the list goes on.... And they start at $19,500. Go drive one and if you don't agree that it blows away the si, spec V, SRT4, mazda 6, and the 2.5 rs you can slap me. :slap:

The main reason it said was (and I quote:) "Garnished,attachment, forclosure, repossession, collection action or judgement"

Which is TOTAL Bullshit. I have never had ANY of those things.

The secondary reason was: "Value or type of collateral not sufficient"

Why would they release a car (which they financed for 4k OVER the cost of the car now that I read the contract) to someone without approving the credit first? even on a saturday the Nissan credit whatever and the few banks they used are still open.

A WRX is too expensive for my insurance, otherwise I'd be all over it. same body and color as yours Dohcvtec_accord. I'd rather get a 2.5RS and have lower insurance and be able to afford doing a few STi i/h/e swaps :p

The Mazdaspeed protege is nice, and it's one of the fast ones, but it's also the most costly base for a brand new car. now I know you're sayin the 2.5RS is expensive new, but I want the bugeye body style which I know I can get a good used one for 16k.

But one thing I hav e to call bs on is it won't blow the SRT-4 away. that's the fastest car w/ a base price of under 20g's.

Let me correct myself. What I meant by blowing all those cars away is - you get much more car for the money. Yes the SRT4 is faster in a straight line, but it's just a lot of power in very little of a car. I didn't like it very much other than the power. w00t!!!

And yeah, it's hard to fuck with a used WRX especially since I see low mileage ones going for @16-17k around here. <_< Damn scoobys.
 
i am still mad that they did that to you James. it was a hella nice ass car and it will be missed. good luck in finding something that you like. lemme know if you need help looking for a ride. oooh btw a place called Triple A here in town sells "performance" cars like what you are looking for. a buddy of mine was telling me this today so you may wanna call em up and see what they got.
 
That sucks a fat one dude, but I would have to encourage getting a new car over a used one. I hate used cars, every one anybody I know has ever bought, they fuck up. I say if anything get an SI, like me :) the new headlights are better than the old ones. I know you said you don't like the engine, but hey it is good. Anyway, just keep looking around you know what fits you when you see it.

i think the headlights on the new SI are the worst part. very ghey IMO. they are just too big. the headlights on the coupe look better. if i ever got a new SI, i would change out the engine for a type r or type s and do ANY headlight conversion i could. well not any, but something that would look better, dont ask what it is, because i dont know. i havent thought about it that much
 
I don't like the headlights either, I am thinking about converting them into RSX headlights, but I don't like where the turn signal is in an RSX. I don't like the headlights either, but the new (04 SI) headlights are pretty sweet.

I like them, it would look better in black, but I like the new design. Not only that, but new skirts, 16" rims, and new tailights, I can't find the freakin' pic right now, but if somebody else can I would appreciate it. I think I need to trade mine in.

I don't think I could ever get used or accustomed to teh hatch body style for the new SI. If I get the SI it'll be that black 2000 coupe with 30k miles I believe at Honda for $15,999.

sohc: ooooooh. Ok I see what you mean. If I spend that much for a car, I might as well get the AWD with teh turbo and the good times too. But insurance would kill me.

I'd be happy with a 2.5RS subey in which I can do STi i/h/e and maybe chip it. :shrug2:

All in all, my Escort now sucks. crappy clutch, crappy shifter and I want a new car.

If I finance a car that's 16k then my payments would go down, I never made a payment on the V, but they were supposed to be $399/month + $190/month for insurance.

A cheaper car would allow me to mod it a little. (which is why I want the bone stock Civic SI over the one I saw that's lowered with rims and all emblems shaved not to mention it had a turbo timer on the dash...) :unsure:
 
i still dont like them, they didnt change much. the size and shape is all wrong. they are too damn big. i think rsx lights might look alright.
 
get a SRT-4. the mazdaspeed is ok, but HELLA slow, theres 1 in town ,i owned in in the 1/4 he ran a 15.9... but the gay ornage colour is LAME.

There were four at the Dodge dealership, one of each color...they all got sold.


There is a silver SRT-4 still there though, i looked at it today...too many options & too much cash for it.
