no rear defroster

i got a 90 civic si and i changed off the rear hatch with another one and every thing works except the defroster. i checked the fuse then i used a light tester and got nothing, the hatch worked fine before, wats wrong?

make sure its plugged up in the back also make sure the wires aren't broke

its plugged in at the rear rigt post and the wiper works. the thing i didn't mention was that one of the connectors that connect to the glass was broke off and i soldered it back on but the voltmeter still says i have no power.

well then check to see if the wires are getting power right before that connector
