I have a 97 civic LX that has a bad cat. converter on it.....rather than spending the money to replace the cat I am going the bypass it. my problem is I assume that it will still give me the check engine light still. I have heard the if I can figure out the resistance the the 02 sensor is set for you can put a transistor on it to by pass it.

thanks

it should fluctuate between .1 and 1.0 volts on the primary and a relatively consistent reading inthis range on the secondary

not a transistor, a resistor. Try searching like jegs or somewhere like that, you can actually buy a replacment for the o2 sensor that always sends back a certain voltage, but you have to watch it because if you back o2 reads more than the front you'll get a code
