o2 sensor

alright i know this is a stupid question but does the o2 sensor go in the exhaust or in the intake? and would a heated o2 sensor make my mpg go down significantly and would it make my car kinda bog out when i take off?

yeah its in my header (well not in but ou know what i mean) and im prob gonna get to it sat or sunday cuz i have had to work for the past like week staight and i havent had time to pay attention to my baby
