I tend not to like Oakley's, they always seem to have been made cheaply, especially the arm hinges.

I have a pair of Smith Shelter sunglasses that I really like. They have photochromatic lenses that I really like. I'd also look into Spy and Maui Jim Sunglasses.

Wiley X good sir. I have a pair of WX Z87-2 Romer II's which was standard issue in the sandbox a year ago or so, then they started issuing Wiley X goggles.

Yes get them and you will love them. I personally like the polarized lenses the best. They are pricey but they are worth it if you take care of them I have had roughly 5 pair: Eye Jackets, E-wires, Monster dogs, whiskers, and some other metal frames that I forgot the name of. I am looking at a new pair right now as well.

    Why I like them:

Lens clarity - haven't found any better looking lenses I especially like the HDO versions of the lenses

Duribility - They stand up to rough play (baseball and snowboarding) and working construction. Plus replacement parts and lenses are relatively inexpensive to purchase for your glasses. For the wire frames you can order and install parts yourself. If you have the plastic lenses you choose the lens and send it in for free from a dealer/retailer.

Comfortable - I have them on from sun up to sun down and sometimes I forget that I have them on.

Cheap (for me) - I got my pairs of glasses from usstandardissue.com which significantly discounts them for service members. If you can do the same it will save you up to 50% off the retail price. If not a buddy of mine gets the frames off of Ebay or CL and then gets replacement parts to make them essentially new again. They are cheaper than full price but not as cheap as usstandardissue.com

I get headaches from squinting alot during the daytime even if it is cloudy and I swear by my Oaks as they keep me going every day. I am sure other can tell you about other makes and models but you asked about Oakleys so I thought I would share.

I still use mine at the range :), got the nice yellow lenses, and clear for night, they're great for running through a shoot house, they stay put.

That usstandarissue.com, does it work for veterans also? My brother was in the army, isn't any more, and I'm gonna be driving a bus on an east to west road for hours on end..

Costa Del Mar makes some amazing glasses. they have shitload of frame and lense options, and i can tell you that the 580 lenses are amazing and worth the money. costas are the sunglasses staple for serious fisherman because the vision and comfort is awesome.

well i can understand. i was out of work/school for a month. when i came back to work my boss was like "sorry but we had to replace you, but i am going to go into the back room and if you wanna take something, i cant prove anything." so i went for the $400 pair of glasses. super cool boss, shitty job.
