when converting to obd1 and running a vtec head and ecu do I need a distributor for the head or will any obd1 distributor work?

If you dont want to mod the dist. housing to work... then get an OBD1 VTEC dist. If you dont mind cutting a leg off the non-VTEC OBD1 dist. get that.

use the vtec dist. that is with the head
