I'm not sure if someone already did this on this forum, but looking at the "back in the day" thread, I just had to do REAL beer some justice. :D

Post up your favorite beers and even breweries you've visited!

I just got back from a beer trip vacation, so I guess I'll start...

    Favorite beers:
I pretty much have certain types that I like: IPAs, Porters, Stouts, and Hefs

    • Black Flag Imperial Stout (Fresh Hop Edition)
    • Moylan's Imperial Stout
    • Moylan's IPA & Hopsickle
    • Lost Coast's Tangerine Wheat
    • Skyscraper's Bulldozer Honeyweizen
    • Eel River's Acai Berry Wheat
    • Bear Republic's Racer 5
There's so many more I'm not listing... these are just some of my recent favorites.

    Breweries Visited:
    • The Bruery, Fullerton (didn't get any pics)
    • BJ's, Various soCal locations (no pics, since we go there all the time)
    • Anchor Steam, San Francisco (only found where they manufacture the beer; no tasting room)
    • Speakeasy, San Francisco (only found where they manufacture the beer; no tasting room)
    • North Coast, Fort Bragg (sampler below)

Only brewery I've been to is a restaurant on the south side of town here called Mad Anthony's. Their beer is pretty good, but my favorite is Sam Adams Boston Lager. I enjoy a good Corona and lime and for the cheap get-plastered-nights, I stick to coors or Bud light.

I love the Dogfish Head beers. I can only find the 60 min and the 90 minute IPAs here in CA. I've been looking everywhere to try the 120.

Colorado has our fair share of micro brews.

I'm a pretty big beer connoisseur so I've been to a lot of breweries here in the state.

Boulder Beer Company - Colorado Microbrewery - Hazed & Infused
Boulder Beer Company - my favorites are probably Buff Gold and Hazed & Infused.

Great Divide Brewing | Denver Colorado
Great Divide Brewery - Denver Pale Ale is my fav.

    http://www.averybrewing.com/
Avery Brewing - 14er ESB and Ellie's Nut Brown

New Belgium | Follow your folly!
Probably most well known New Belgium Brewery - I love 1554 and Sunshine Wheat

I'm not going to type out all the other web addresses for the other places I've been, but here is a list of them:

    Left Hand Brewery
    Odell Brewery
    Oskar Blues Brewery
    Ska Brewing Co.
    Glenwood Springs Brewery
    Twisted Pine Brewery
    Breckenridge Brewery
    Tommy Knockers Brewery
    Wynkoop Brewery

Then we've also got some restaurants that are pretty good breweries as well. Some of them are chains though:

    CB&Potts
    Hops
    Rock Bottom Brewery

I've also been to the two big domestic makers in Colorado, the Coors Brewery in Golden and the Anheuser Busch Brewery in Fort Collins.

Also being from Chicago I have to mention that Goose Island has some really good beer, and I've also been to the Old Style brewery in La Crosse, WI.

Another thing I just thought about...if you really want to experience beer tasting, you need to make a trip out to Colorado for the Great American Beer Festival in October.

Its held in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, you pay $55 for a ticket in for like 4-5 hours. When you walk in you get a shot glass and have around 2,000 beers to sample from. Needless to say, by the time you leave you're feeling really good...:D

Cheese curds are about one of the best things ever. The key is they have to be fresh, and they have to squeak when you eat them.
